Every day, IOM health teams provide lifesaving medical care to internally displaced persons across South Sudan, where 6.1 million people are in need of assistance due to two-and-a-half years of war. Doctors and nurses work in often harsh conditions as their efforts are hindered by insecurity, including violence that destroyed an IOM clinic at a peacekeeping base in Malakal in early 2016.
